Video: How to Use LocalPlayHub (3 min, 10 slides — Click, then adjust volume.)

What LocalPlayHub is

LocalPlayHub helps you find local activities to take part in — sports, games, and local events.
You can join a game, attend an event, message the host, or post your own activity.
Whether you’re organizing a casual match, hosting a concert, or running regular sessions, LocalPlayHub helps people find you.

POSTINGS: All postings are FREE. We may change or remove submissions at our discretion. By submitting, you give us all rights to the content.

NOTE: Some events shown outside your area are examples of how listings appear.

1) Find an event or spot to join

  • Go to Find a Game/Spot.
  • Use the search box to type anything: “tennis doubles”, “chess”, “open mic”, “concert”, “badminton”, “golf”, etc.
  • Use When to filter: rest of today, tomorrow, this week, next week, etc.
  • Use Sought Profile to specify the kind of participation you seek or offer.
  • The listing shows whether participants, players, or audience spots are still available.

2) Click an event to message or join

  • Tap/click any row in the list.
  • You’ll be taken to the join page where you can sign up, reserve a spot, or message the host.
  • City information is taken from your profile. Users can view events in other cities under 'Find an Open Spot,' but can only share activities (join, post, etc.) in their registered city.
  • To change your city, please update your Sign Up settings.
  • For all activities you participate in, be friendly and specific: detail your role or capacity, your expectations, your availability, and whether you would join a waiting list.

3) Sign up as a Player, Attendee, or Coach

  • Players use LocalPlayHub to find matches, partners, and last-minute openings.
  • Attendees use LocalPlayHub to discover and attend local events.
  • Coaches and organizers can use LocalPlayHub to post activities, manage visibility, and reach participants.
  • LocalPlayHub does not process event payments; donations, when offered, are handled via PayPal.

4) Offer a game or event (post an activity) — with or without donation

  • Go to Post a New Game.
  • Fill in: city, activity type, date/time, location, and a short description.
  • For games, choose Your Level and what level you’re seeking.
  • Posting is free. If you want, you can optionally enable a donation.
  • If donations are enabled, they are processed via PayPal based on your settings.

Ratings (simple)

  • New members and coaches start at 2.5 rating.
  • Players show stars; coaches show diamonds.
  • Ratings reflect trust and community experience — not professional ranking.
  • Skill rankings (e.g., 'I am an advanced player') are self-assessed. Be honest and humble: if you overstate your skill level, other players may report you, which could lower your rating (in stars).
  • Ratings (stars) are 'weighted' according to each reporter’s standing: a report from a 5-star reporter carries more weight than that from a 1-star reporter. We reward merit.

Good etiquette (quick)

  • Show up on time; message early if you can’t make it.
  • Respect skill gaps and keep things friendly.
  • If it’s a public place, meet somewhere visible.
  • When in doubt: communicate. It solves most issues.
